It features a 220 degree lidar that combined with its 3D Matrix camera system gives it some of the most effective navigation and object avoidance I've ever seen in a robot vacuum. It has a hefty 4600mAh battery that lasts for up to 170-minutes when mopping and suction are set to standard mode (it is able to run longer in turbo). It can even return to its dock to replenish its battery mid-clean.
It's extremely efficient and does an outstanding job of cleaning my two-bedroom apartment. It vacuums carpeted rooms quickly, and hardwood floors in the kitchen, living room and hallways in just one motion. Its suction motor of 8,000pa will quickly pick up dirt, droppings, and pet hair. Carpet detection automatically boosts power when it detects rugs and the dual side brush assists in removing debris from corners.

The S1 Pro is also one of the quietest robot mop and vacuums I've tested. It is quieter and doesn't make more noise when mopping or vacuuming. The only drawback is that the S1 Pro must use a exclusive cleaning solution for its mopping function and is sold separately from the vacuum. It's a bit old-fashioned to have separate modules for mopping and vacuuming, but it does mean that you don't have to fret about changing out disposable bags or refilling the tank of water.

The X1 Omni's most appealing feature is its enormous dock, which doubles as a charging base and housing for two 4-liter water tanks, a sink for cleaning and the 2.5-liter dust bin that automatically emptys.
The base comes with several control buttons, which allow you to manually start a cleaning task and then recall the robot or run the dock’s auto-emptying procedure. Press two buttons to toggle the child lock. This is a nice feature for parents who are worried about their children messing around with the vacuum.
Similar to other robotic vacuums, the X1 Omni uses its camera to identify furniture and obstacles in its path, and then avoid them. True Mapping 2.0 navigation maps your home up to four times faster than laser detection systems.
Unfortunately, this means that the X1 Omni can occasionally become so entangled with obstacles, like an electrical cord dangling across a rug, that it gets stuck and stops working until you remove it manually. Although this is not a common occurrence, it was a frustrating experience when it did happen and especially because the X1 Omni doesn't have an "stuck" status alert in its app.
The X1 Omni cannot automatically switch from mopping mode to vacuuming mode during a cleaning session. You'll need to manually swap between the two, which isn't too bad except for the fact that the mopping pads haven't been cleaned and dried between use, which can lead to mildew or mold.
On the positive side it's worth noting that the X1 Omni is a beautiful-looking robot thanks to the design team at Jacob Jensen (of Bang & Olufsen fame) who came up with its sleek, modern-looking base and mopping pad apparatus. It's a significant difference from the utilitarian black bases of rivals like Roborock or iRobot. And it's an excellent choice for the market that is dominated by boxy models.
